About Christine Kunkel 

The Artist:

Christine Kunkel is a local Laguna Beach artist whose work places

special emphasis on mosaics that highlight the wonders of life, religion, and culture. Trained in history, religion and education, Christine's passion has been to transform her love for world cultures, recycled treasures and lost or forgotten objects d'arts into her complex and engaging pieces. Even the frames she discovers have a history. When asked, Christine offers, "I love to give life to items that are no longer used, like, antique curtain weights, gold cufflinks, hand blown glass flowers, and crosses.

My work encompasses history, cultures and symbols." Many of Christine's pieces have been incorporated into garden settings. She creates both interior and exterior designs. She has worked with landscape architects, design consultants, and interior designers who have integrated her work into their projects. She has also shown her work in local art shows. She is also a credentialed teacher and received her education at the University of California at Santa Barbara and Chapman University.
